Westbury Deluxe
The body of the Westbury Deluxe is an arch top body and has a slightly offset double cutaway design made of Canadian Hard Rock Maple. The neck is a 5 piece, 22 fret, joined set neck with a steel reinforced adjustable truss rod which is also made of Canadian Hard Rock Maple. It had a rosewood fingerboard (the earlier models had an ebony fingerboard) with pearl dot inlays with a black headstock overlay with "Westbury" logo and "W" design with three tuners per-side. The bridge is a long travel adjustable. The Westbury Deluxe comes with the original DiMarzio "PAF" humbucker pickup (Neck) and DiMarzio Super Distortion pickup (Bridge) Four knobs (two volume, two tone) with a three-way pickup toggle selector. The Westbury Deluxe was available in a Cherry sunburst, Tobacco Sunburst or an Antique Walnut and was manufactured from 1979-1981.
In 1980, there was a new Deluxe Model introduced by Westbury. The W-2218 which came in an ivory finish and the W-2215 which came in a black finish. These guitars came with active pickups and a 2-way toggle switch to turn them into passive. The nut on these 2 new deluxe models was changed to brass opposed to the older Deluxe Models which were made of bone. Photographs of the W-2215 came complements of Dave Tustain.
